The new FlexcomONE is a single pair, low power SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable) Ethernet copper wire modem using the transmission friendly Pulse Amplitude Modulation (PAM) technology. The modem is optimized for a duplex 10Mbps connection speed over a pair of copper wires up to 2000 meters without the need of configuration. The FlexcomONE can be plugged into any Ethernet device with SFP ports that support 100BASE-FX.

Pulse Amplitude Modulation means a much smaller frequency bandwidth than comparable modules with VDSL/ADSL technology. This technology influences the other systems less and the transmission on copper cables is more save and for harsh environments.

It's plug and play, you don't need local/remote or different modules on each side. The training time for the copper line connection (link synchronisation) within 2 seconds is very fast. The copper line interface has 1500V RMS or 2250V DC isolation and its protection meets ITU-T Rec. K.20/K.21.

The new FlexcomONE low power industrial SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable) module is a Serial Interface (RS-232/485/422) to IP (Ethernet) data converter. The FlexcomONE can be plugged into any Ethernet device with SFP ports that support 100BASE-FX and/or 1000BASE-X. The configuration is possible by Web or Telnet access. For security reasons, the web and telnet access can be set to write-protected using the switch on the SFP module.

Serial data transmission can be done using UDP or TCP protocols. The SFP module is fully compatible to 3rd-Party COM-Servers. You can use the SFP module for COM Port Extenders and Virtual Serial Ports.

100BASE-T Copper Small Form Pluggable (SFP) transceivers are based on the SFP Multi Source Agreement (MSA). They are designed for converting 100Base-FX NRZI port interface to 10/100Base-TX interface with RJ45 connector. The physical layer IC (PHY) can be accessed via I2C, allowing access to all PHY settings and features.

The (I) version of this module provides extended temperature range.

Copper Small Form Pluggable (SFP) transceivers is high-performance, cost-effective module compliant with the Gigabit Ethernet and 1000BASE-T standards as specified in IEEE 802. 3-2002 and IEEE 802.3ab, which supporting 1000Mbps data-rate up to 100 meters reach over unshielded twisted-pair category 5 cable.

The module supports 1000Mbps full duplex data-links with 5-level Pulse Amplitude Modulation (PAM) signals. All four pairs in the cable are used with symbol rate at 250Mbps on each pair. The module provides standard serial ID information compliant with SFP MSA, which can be accessed with address of A0h via the 2wire serial CMOS EEPROM protocol. The physical IC can also be accessed via 2wire serial bus at address ACh.

The (I) version of this module provides extended temperature range.

It enables traditional switches, media converters and other network devices to be interconnected beyond typical Ethernet coverage (100 meters) as copper extender or to be connected to a DSLAM.
